Since the inception of the project to redevelop Sanderson Arcade and Back
Riggs, the Chamber of Trade has been an enthusiastic, if occasionally
critical supporter of the proposals.
After a protracted period of planning and negotiation, the project
finally got under way in July 2008. The Chamber of Trade is fully aware that
the period of construction will inevitably result in some temporary
disruption to trade and some inconvenience for the public, but we are
committed to the principle that the redevelopment will considerably enhance
Morpeth as a vibrant Market Town and trading centre for amy years to come.
