Morpeth Fair Day:
The Chamber of Trade Fair day is held on the second Sunday in June every year and is the Chamber's major fundraising event attracting approximately 35,000 visitors to the town. A committee of members is responsible for all aspects of the the fair day including organising the entertainment, the main parade, other attractions and sponsorship. Although considerable work is involved Morpeth Fair Day is widely acknowledged as being a professionally run Fair enjoyed by thousands providing much needed funds for the Chamber. |

Golf Day:
This takes place each June and is one of the town's most popular Golf events. Each year, a number or teams from local businesses and organisations take part, and to date, the weather has always been exceptionally kind to us on the day. Thanks are in no small part due to Geoff Proudlock and his team who always put a great deal of effort into organising this excellent event.
The Continental Market:
Since 2005 we have organised twice yearly visits of the Paras Bristiel Continental Market in June, as part of Fair Day and later in the year, to start the Christmas season of events. Selling produce from all over Europe, this market has proved a highly popular attraction.
Saturdays on the Market Place:
Saturday entertainment throughout July and August has become something of a Morpeth tradition. The entertainment, from 1pm to 3pm each Saturday, is jointly funded by the Chamber and CMBC and features a variety of musical entertainment.
Mistletoe Fair:
In partnership with Morpeth Town Council Christmas Lights switch-on ceremony the Chamber puts on a craft fair in Morpeth Town Hall with lunches and mulled wine, together with a children's roundabout offering free rides on the Market Place.
Morpeth in Bloom:
The Chamber of Trade has enjoyed considerable success for a number of years in the Commercial section of the annual Northumbria in Bloom competition. In 2007 the town was selected to represent the Region in the RHS Britain in Bloom competition and won a prestigious Silver Gilt medal. The Chamber will also be involved in the 2008 competition, for which Morpeth has once again been selected as Regional representative. |
